A Step-by-Step Guide to Properly Cleaning Your Bong

If you’re a smoker and have a bong, you probably already know how important it is to keep it clean. how to clean a bong not only looks unsightly but can also spoil the taste of your smoke. More than just being a chore, cleaning your bong regularly is an essential part of your smoking ritual. In this article, we’ll go over everything you need to know about how to clean a bong.

Materials needed

Before you start cleaning, you’ll need to gather the necessary materials. Grab some pipe cleaners, cotton swabs, rubbing alcohol, salt, a cleaning brush, and a sink. If you don’t have rubbing alcohol, you can use vinegar or lemon juice instead. Make sure the sink you’ll be using is clean, and you have hot, running water at your disposal.

Disassemble and rinse

Take your bong apart and rinse each piece one by one under hot water. If the mouthpiece or stem has a lot of buildup, use a cleaning brush to gently scrub the residue away. Don’t use boiling water as it can cause cracks in the glass. Once you’ve rinsed each piece thoroughly, set them aside and let them dry.

Cleaning the bowl

Next, place the bowl in a resealable plastic bag and pour in some salt and rubbing alcohol. The alcohol will dilute the resin, and the salt will act as an abrasive to scrub it away. Seal the bag and shake it vigorously for a few minutes. Then, open the bag and rinse the bowl under hot water until it’s spotless.

Cleaning the bong body

For the bong body, you’ll need to fill it up with hot water and add a generous amount of salt. Then, pour in enough rubbing alcohol slowly to cover the top of the salt. Plug the holes with your hands and carefully shake the bong for a few minutes. You can also use pipe cleaners and cotton swabs to get into hard-to-reach areas. Once you feel like you’ve swirled the mixture around thoroughly, pour it out and rinse the bong with hot water.

Drying and polishing

Set all the pieces of your bong on a paper towel and let them air dry completely. Don’t skip this step, or there might be residual moisture left in the crevices, which can turn moldy over time. As an optional step, you can also polish your bong with a microfiber cloth to make it look shiny and new.

Cleaning your bong might seem like a hassle at first, but it’s a small price to pay for a better smoking experience. Regular cleaning will also prolong the life of your equipment. By following these simple steps, you’ll be able to keep your bong in top-notch condition for longer. Happy Smoking!
